By Cara Murez HealthDay Reporter(HealthDay)WEDNESDAY, Nov. 1, 2023 (HealthDay News) -- Despite progress in recent decades, too many Americans still have dangerously high LDL cholesterol levels, and about a quarter don't even know it, new research finds. Of course, you can only start treatment for high cholesterol if you know your cholesterol numbers are high. “That's why it's absolutely imperative that everybody should get their cholesterol checked and they should know their numbers,” Virani said. Being unaware and untreated for high cholesterol disproportionately affected Black, Hispanic and poorer people. “Clinicians have a lot of options to treat these patients and make sure that both their quality and quantity of life is not compromised just because of these high LDL cholesterol levels,” Virani said.

CNN —For 42-year-old Ghanaian Canadian artist Ekow Nimako, Lego is more than just a kids’ toy. “I started realizing that not only did I enjoy making art with Lego, but it was important that I made Black art very specifically,” he said. Nimako uses black Lego bricks specifically for three main reasons. Nimako is a futurist who used approximately 100,000 Lego pieces to construct a reimagining of the medieval kingdom of Ghana, titled "Kumbi Saleh 3020 CE." Sam EngelkingIn his “Building Black: Civilizations” series, Nimako reimagines medieval sub-Saharan African narratives.

John MalathronasChristos Patakos, manager of Patmos Aktis, the only five-star hotel on the island, shook his head. “There’s a general feeling, especially among the regulars and those who own houses on Patmos, that the island must be ‘protected’ from mass tourism.
